Caved In: Prehistoric Terror (2006)

0.9 Bolls

I made a mistake in getting Caved In: Prehistoric Terror. I didn’t realize when I was looking at the box that it was a colon-movie; I thought “Prehistoric Terror” was just a description. But no, it was part of the title, and the theory of colon-movies definitely held true here. It […]

The Cave (2005)

0.7 Bolls

Part two of my Memorial Day bad movie marathon was The Cave. Back in 2005, when The Descent, a great, intense horror film about a group of thrill-seeking spelunkers, was released, I kept getting the two movie titles confused. Fortunately, I managed to get ahold of the correct one and thoroughly enjoyed […]

The Breed (2006)

0.7 Bolls

I celebrated Memorial Day in my own fashion, by renting a pile of of probably bad horror movies and curling up in the recliner for a while. I was certainly not mistaken in my choices. The Breed was definitely representative of them, though it was the best of the lot. Quite […]

Milkbeard the Mighty Rocks Out

My cat, Milkbeard the Mighty, has recently shown me her taste in music. When I play Guitar Hero 2, she has taken to coming into the front room and watching from the top shelf of her cat tree. For most songs, she will just lie there and watch either me or the television screen, but when her favorite songs come on, most notably “Search and Destroy” by Iggy Pop and the Stooges, she goes into a berserk dance:

Lost - "Through the Looking Glass"

My mind is broken, I can feel it. If you were watching tonight’s Lost, you know exactly what I’m talking about. “Through the Looking Glass” doesn’t begin to describe it, though it may well be the single most appropriate episode title we’ve had. They told us ahead of time that this season […]

RoboCarp

It has recently come to my attention that the Japanese seem to be plotting to replace all of nature with robots. Witness the RoboCarp:

Feeling Sorry for the Little Guy

Several weeks ago, I got to jump back into the DM’s chair and fire up my own campaign for my gaming group. I’ve had a great time putting together the little corner of the campaign world they’ll inhabit, as well as pulling together some backstory ideas I’ve had for years. I gave them […]

Heroes - "How to Stop an Exploding Man"

That was one of the best hours of television I’ve ever seen! The writers of [link:Heroes Heroes] have definitely shown that it is possible to maintain a consistently excellent level of storytelling across an entire season of television. And they showed they can identify a serious potential flaw in their story, and correct it before the end. And contrary to what some people have said, I think the way they ended the season shows they are comics fans.

How bout some spoilers….

Lost - "Greatest Hits"

Now that is what I want from my [link:Lost Lost]. I solid episode all around, not bogged down with the omnipresent love triangle, with plenty of action and some great new information. The writers have really come around, and are very much on the right track to drive us crazy with a cliffhanger-laden season finale.

And here’s your regular spoiler warning:
