Just what I needed

We had a really good Family Game Night at Little Shoppe of Games last night. D&D had been canceled the night before so Lane could close up shop early to attend to a friends birthday, so I was really needing some quality gaming. Killer BunniesWhen Brianna and I rolled in after dinner, she wanted to jump right into , as I had expected. Control of our game went back and forth for a while as we knocked each other's bunnies out of the circle left and right; I even managed to kill all of them on both our sides with the ebola virus. Eventually, Brianna got the last carrot out of the store, and we went through the ritual of determining who had the magic carrot in their possession. Turned out Brianna did, giving her the win. She's good at the game and getting better every time we play. Igor - The Mad Scientist’s LamentWhile we had been playing, and came in, along with a couple other customers. James, naturally, immediately jumped on the Xbox for some Halo 3, while Jess joined the other table for a round of Chrononauts. Just as Brianna and I finished up with our bunnies, I overheard Jess achieving one of her win conditions, so I invited her to hop over to our table and join us for something else. Brianna suggested , so we ran with it. As happened last week, her ride arrived before we could finish, but not before she'd gotten a couple of devices built. Next time, I'll definitely have to suggest we start with this one so she can finish a game, possible win. After she took off, I brought out a couple of surprises I'd brought along for the group. First was the , inspired by 's song "." It looked like a lot of fun when I went over the rules; the goal of the game is to placate boring manager Rob by completing projects and woo the pretty receptionist until you have her heart. I'd brought it primarily for my fellow code monkey, , but he didn't make it out last night. So Jill, Jess, and I decided to give the other game I brought a try. That would be the epically not family-friendly . Also based on a Jonathan Coulton song, this is a very adult-oriented game, but one that was tremendously entertaining to play. We definitely had a good time, and kept getting looks from the players at the other table when we announced our moves. After that, we decided to wind down with some . I managed to get the Zombies Win card in my hand the first time, and couldn't stop myself from playing it in the second round, ending the game and frustrating everyone to no end. The timing was right, though, as the game at the other table ended and Lane was freed up to come join us. Of course, through the luck of the shuffle and deal, Lane wound up with it in his hand and was able to play it immediately as his first round, ending the game immediately then and there. We dealt again, and managed to play another game or two of Zombie Fluxx before it was closing time and we all headed out.
