Double Trouble

Double Trouble is upon us! Tomorrow, 08.08.08, is the day that Tee Morris and Philippa Ballantine are both releasing their new novels on this auspicious Friday.  Starting at 8:00AM Pacific time, both authors are calling upon their fans to make a run on Amazon to once again show the powers that be the true power of internet marketing. Tee Morris has brought back Billibub Baddings, the dwarf detective working Prohibition-era Chicago in The Case of the Pitcher's Pendant.  Not too long ago, I had the great pleasure of finally listening to his podcast of the first Billibub Baddings mystery, and I absolutely loved it.  It was an excellent blend of of high fantasy and crime noir.  Like any good detective tale, it was packed with equal parts action and humor, and had a good dose of magic heaped on top.  I waited far too long to get around to listening to it, and once I started, I was hooked. Pip Ballantine is also bringing back an old favorite in Digital Magic, the sequel to Chasing the Bard.  I'm currently listening to her tale of Shakespeare and the fey, and I'm loving every minute of it.  I try to always give a new podcast at least four episodes to see if I'm going to like it; after four minutes of Chasing the Bard I knew I couldn't stop.  The excellent writing is surpassed only by the wonderful voice work, especially Pip herself with her Kiwi accent.  I'm maybe two-thirds of the way through it, so I've no idea how things will turn out, but every second of the story has been a blast. Both authors released PDF versions of their new novels as part of the promotion for Double Trouble, but I've decided to be patient and not read them myself until I can hold the physical books in my hand.  And it less the twelve hours, I'll be placing my order at Amazon to do my part to try and push both novels to the top of the charts.  I hope you'll be there as well.  And remember, follow the links from the Double Trouble web page to order the books.
