I'm a veteran of the early days of the OS Holy Wars. Back in the late 90s, I was a Linux zealot, no doubt about it. I vilified the Microsoft Evil Empire every chance I got, and, for a while, got myself entirely off of their software. Back then, it wasn't easy; there weren't any packages like Open Office to use, heterogeneous networking was a nightmare, and everything was compiled by hand. I fought and argued across Usenet as hard as anyone, back in the day. I give you that bit of history so when I tell you that Microsoft has been winning me over lately, it will mean something.

It's been a terrible long wait, filled with withdrawal, but tonight, Heroes finally returned with a strong season premier. Picking up four months after the events in the season one finale, it had a lot of catching up to give to us, introducing us to many (but not all) of the characters' new situations. As such, it couldn't be one of the fast-paced, all-action episodes, but it did leave us with several cliff-hangers to explore through the rest of the season. Most episodes would only give one solid one. Now on with spoilers and speculation...
