Whether you call it Halloween, All Hallow's Eve, Samhain, , Día de los Muertos, or something my quick glance through Wikipedia (the source of all knowledge, some of it correct) didn't show me, we here at The Last Exit to Babylon wanted to wish you and yours a happy one.

Everything's coming to a head in now. Tonight's episode was all about most of the characters coming up against their the line in the sand and deciding if they're going to cross it. In the coming episodes, those choices are going to come back to haunt them for sure. And on to the spoilers:

Emergency Zombie Defense StationWhat do you do during a zombie uprising? If you don't have an answer, you are going to be woefully unprepared when the end comes. Fortunately, a gentleman named has come up with something that should help.

Brave Men RunWhen I started listening to podcast novels, or podiobooks, I asked for some recommendations. He immediately suggested , by . He told me it was kind of a superhero origin story, combined with a coming of age story for an outcast high-schooler. The coming of age part didn't really grab me; I was the outcast in high school, and don't enjoy rehashing those memories. But I love superhero stories, so into the iPod it went.

We had a reasonably solid episode tonight, though the focus on Matt's storyline is frustrating as always. They seem to be tying things together more tightly then last season. The most of the storylines seem to be more obviously connected, although I have to admit I don't trust what's obvious anymore. What I do trust is that they're going somewhere with all of this, and I can't wait to see where. And now, on with the spoilers....

Tonight I got a heads-up from . It seems there's a Storm gathering on the internet, poised to take over our computers for who knows what nefarious purpose. The Storm worm has been slowing infiltrating as many as 50 million Windows-based PCs around the world. Thus far this botnet has seen only limited use; it's attacked some anti-spam companies and the website of a malware expert.

Natural Selection, by Dave FreedmanEver since I first read , I've been a huge fan of the giant shark novels. captivated me with a story made so terrifying because it seemed so plausible. So it was almost a foregone conclusion when I came across at the check out counter of my local drug store, that I would have to buy it. I mean, look at that cover! It's got a giant mouth full of teeth coming at me from the depths. And when I picked it up, here's what the back cover told me:
A shocking biological discovery A previously unknown predatory species. Evolving just like the dinosaurs. Now. Today. Weaving science and thriller in a way not seen since Jurassic Park, Natural Selection introduces a phenomenally dangerous new species that is rapidly adapting in a way never before seen. When the scientists tracking it begin dying, the stakes are upped even further. Then the real hunt begins....
Whoa! Someone over at knows me very well indeed! They hit a bunch of my hot-button topics for this genre: dinosaurs, evolution, new species, comparisons to , dangerous science. How could I resist. This should be the perfect book for me, right?
