Posting's been a little sporadic here at The Last Exit to Babylon.  Back in March, my old laptop died its true death, and I had to put her down.  Without the ability to sit here in my recliner and type in front of the TV, posting became less convenient for me, but I still had a desktop workstation to write from.  That worked fine until last month, when Enki, my old and semi-reliable Sony Vaio finally followed the laptop to the great server room in the sky.  Enki had served me well for several years, and I'd upgraded him as far as I could without completely replacing him.  I was sad to see him go, but he'd long since earned the rest.

Before heading out to the Oklahoma City Social Net Meetup tonight, Brianna and I swung by the house so I could show her the progress of our flower garden.  She'd been out of town on vacation since last week and hadn't seen how huge everything's grown.  She was thrilled to see the sunflowers have gotten to be almost as tall as she is, and impressed with the beautiful blooms our freakish desert rose plant has produced.  What's more, she found something I hadn't noticed; one of our sunflowers is about to bloom as well! Naturally, I whipped out the camera (thankfully I'd charged the battery) and snapped some pictures:

This morning, I popped into last.fm right quick to check and make sure my iPod had scrobbled correctly.  I like how the site collects all my listening habits together and lets me look at what seems to have been most popular to me lately.  It also gives anyone else who's curious a peek at what I've been listening to at any given time. I was highly amused to hit my dashboard and scroll down to see what full-length tracks the system was recommending to me.  The second entry was an episode of one of my favorite podcasts:

Earlier this week, my daughter and I popped into the store long enough to pick up LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures. We were huge fans of the LEGO Star Wars games from the time we first got the Xbox, so it was a foregone conclusion we'd pick this one up. As soon as I saw the first trailer and Indy as an unlockable character in the last LEGO Star Wars, I knew I had to have it. It wasn't until last night, however, that we got a chance to sit down and play it.
