Finally, after all these months of waiting, Lost has returned!

I meant to get to this post early last week, but life happened, as it often does.  So as I sit re-watching the second half of the premier, I'll try to catch myself up a bit.  I almost didn't get to watch it live last week, as the local ABC affiliate's antenna had iced up to the point they had to reduce the signal below where I could pick it up.  Thankfully, they managed to get things back up and running again just in time for me to be glued to my set last Tuesday night.  And what a wild ride I was in for!

Now, on to the spoilers....

I love the show Supernatural.  One of the many reasons I enjoy it so much is actor Jensen Ackles, who plays older brother Dean Winchester.  It's like he was born to play that role.  Here he is having some fun on the set:

I love good food, and I actually do enjoy cooking, but for far too long I've really been just too lazy do much.  By the time I get home from work, I'm pretty wiped out and don't want to spend a lot of time on meal preparation, preferring instead to toss something in the microwave and scarf it down in my recliner.  My mother knows my lazy tendencies all too well, and she knows even better that harping on my failings is pretty much the worst way to get me to change.

Mothers, of course, are sneaky, sneaky people.  And mine has had to be doubly so to raise someone as completely bull-headed as me.  Lately she has been watching a lot of cooking shows, especially those starring chef Gordon Ramsay, and she caught on to my own interest in the same shows when I would sit up watching them with her whenever I visited.  I've always enjoyed foodie shows myself, and used to watch them all the time back when I had cable, but haven't caught any lately.

This was a much better episode than !

"Dead is Dead" caught us up on what's going on in the present day island, which I'd been wondering about.  More importantly, it focused one of my favorite characters, and one of the most interesting on the show, Benjamin Linus.  We got a lot of his background filled in, and learned some interesting things about the island itself.

And now, on to the spoilers....

I'll admit it.  I probably delayed writing this one up in part because it was a Kate-centric episode.  Those are, of course, my least favorite of the series.  Still, "What Happened, Happened" did answer some very important questions, and filled in some of the final off-island gaps.  It was still a good episode, but not one of my favorites, to be sure.

And so on to the spoilers:

LostIt's been a while, but I'm back online and doing the blogging thing again, so it's high time I got back to the recaps.  Given how many episodes I've skipped (writing about, not watching; I'm still glued to the set every Wednesday night), I don't think I'll be trying to go back and cover them all.  Instead, I'll just take on the most recent one and go from there.  Hopefully, my new resolve will keep me writing through the end of the season, at least.

And here we go:

LostTonight's episode of was quite a bit slower than the , but it needed to be.  They were tying several different storylines together, and so actually needed to advance all of them in a single episode.  I think it worked well without bogging things down; none of what they introduced felt like unnecessary padding. Let's get on into the spoilers, shall we?

LostAnother great episode of tonight!  We're still slowly getting some answers, and tonight I think they gave us one of the biggest reveals of the entire series.  They're also playing things smart, a lot smarter than did at the time I stopped watching.  The writers don't seem to feel the need to advance every single storyline for every single character in each and every episode.  As I've seen, trying to do that is a sure way to keep any of the storylines from going terribly far in a given week, and without any progress, the show stagnates.  Lost isn't doing that. And now, on to the spoilers....

LostAt long last, the wait is over, and the new season of has begun. Picking up precisely where last season's finale left off, they jumped right back into the action and have already set the stage for what looks like it will be a very fast-paced season.  As always, they have given us a few tantalizing answers, but at the usual cost of several more questions.  What's more, they're definitely setting us up to be able to see more of some of the characters we currently believe to be dead. Let's get right into it (spoilers ahead, naturally):

HeroesI almost didn't bother with this post.  As you can see, it's a week overdue, and it's going to be really short.  , unfortunately, is continuing to disappoint me, and I've found myself with less and less interest in watching it.  Last week, for the very first time, it actually bored me, and I worked on other things while it was on.  I didn't feel the burning need I usually have to discuss the episode afterwards, and certainly didn't really feel like posting a recap. But, I opened this can of worms way back at the beginning of the show, so I feel like I ought to keep on with it, a week later or not.  I'm afraid I'll be watching tonight's episode more out of a sense of obligation than any strong interest.  But since won't be here for a couple more days, I'll settle in. One spoiler to discuss, let's get it over with....
