Who is Dustin?

One of my very best friends, Dustin has long been Randall to my Dante. I go down to visit him and Jessika (and their baby) about twice a month for excellent food and company, console video games, and movies. It was he who first introduced me to the works of Uwe Boll in the form of Alone in the Dark. He refuses to watch Sasquatch with me. Dustin also has a pathological belief that ninjas are way cooler than pirates, which is patently false. I man, really, you didn't see any pirates in Elektra!

[...] Dustin told me tonight

[...] Dustin told me tonight about his little grrl playing with her pirate playset on Sunday. Apparently she has decided that the treasure chest is a telephone. On Sunday, she picked it up, put it to her ear, and said “Hello?” She immediately followed up with “Hi, Hairyman!” (her name for me, for obvious reasons; I resemble a sasquatch) . On one of these calls, she seems to have discussed monkeys with me (a perfectly valid conversation topic for us). On another, she told me she was “playing with her people” - her various toy people from the pirate set and others. [...]

[...] Dustin had similar problems (though not to my level, as he was able to complete the tutorial successfully right away). But he discovered the secret of the octave, and found that if he took his voice down into the very basement (think Paul Robeson singing “Ole Man River”), he could do it. He just needed to find the right starting level, because if the song dipped too much lower than where he began, he tended to descent into the top of the next octave. Fine control is an issue. [...]

[...] Dustin, Jess, and I

Anonymous's picture

[...] Dustin, Jess, and I decided to give Wrong Turn 2: Dead End a try based on the recommendation of Film Threat’s Chris Gore. In the DVDuesday segment on Attack of the Show, he gave it a buy, calling it a slasher flick in the style of the classics of the genre. That combined with the appearance of Henry Rollins in the cast was enough for us, so I popped it in the Netflix queue despite having never seen the original Wrong Turn. Dustin and Jess assured me the original had no redeeming value and was definitely not something I needed to waste my time on. Sadly, completist that I am, I will have to rent it someday. [...]
